ATTRACTIONS

Humboldt historical muesum
5 building complex at 2nd and Neosho streets. Open first weekend in June through second weekend in October 1:30-4:00 Sat. & Sun. or anytime by appointment. (620) 473-5055. No charge.
 
NEOSHO RIVER PARK
Located at 1 Bridge Street. Services available at the park: Handicap fishing dock, picnic tables, outdoor classroom and amphitheatre, Wi-Fi, walking trail, flower garden and native grasses.
 
GEORGE SWEATT MEMORIAL PARK
George Sweatt Memorial Park is located at the south end of Humboldt. Take 9th Street south to Wulf Drive. Turn east. Immediately, at Dick Davis Lane, turn north into Sweat Memorial Park.
 
SWIMMING POOL
To visit Humboldt's newly updated swimming pool facilities at Centennial Park, take 8th Street south to Wulf Drive. Picnic tables and a sand volley ball court are being added south of the pool for additional family activities.
 
HUMBOLDT SPEEDWAY

VETERANS' MEMORIAL
Veterans' Memorial is located in the southeast corner of the Humboldt City Square.
 
BANDSTAND IN THE TOWN SQUARE
Humboldt's city square is unique with a two-level, octagonal-shaped band stand in the center. The newly-restored band stand dates back to 1907 when it was built in thme for the town's 50th anniversary.
 
CIVIL WAR TOUR
Self-guided 12-site Civil War Tour is related to the 1861 Raid and Burning of Humboldt by Confederates. Stove and etched marble markers are located throughout the town. Pick up a brochure with mapped locations and history at 107 S. 9th Street, Mon-Sat. 10 am to 5 pm, or Johnson's General Store at 218 N. 9th anytime. A Civil War Monument in the nortwest corner of the City Square bears an etched marble mural of the 12 sites. Guided group tours are available by advance reservation (Call (620)473-2325) between April and October, weather permitting.
 
MOUNT HOPE CEMETERY
Mount Hope Cemetery is located north of Humboldt on Exit Rd. 224 off Hwy. 169. On-line grave locator is available on the City of Humboldt website.
