George Sweatt Memorial Park
George Sweatt Memorial Park is located at the south end of Humboldt. Take 9th Street south to Wulf Drive. Turn east. Immediately, at Dick Davis Lane, turn north into Sweat Memorial Park.

Swimming Pool
For Humboldt's newly updated swimming pool facilities at Centennial Park, take 8th Street south to Wulf Drive. Picnic tables and a sand volley ball court are being added south of the pool for additional family activities. The city anticipates a 2009 summer season opening.  

Veterans' Memorial
Veterans' Memorial is located in the southeast corner of the Humboldt City Square.  

Civil War Tour
Self-guided 12-site Civil War Tour is related to the 1861 Raid and Burning of Humboldt by Confederates.  Stone and etched marble markers are located throughout the town. Pick up a brochure with mapped locations and history at 105 S. 9th Street, Mon through Sat. 10 am to 5 pm, or Johnson's General Store on N. 9th anytime.  A Civil War Monument in the northwest corner of the City Square bears an etched marble mural of the 12 sites.  Guided group tours are available by advance reservation (Call (620) 473-2325) between April and October, weather permitting.

Mount Hope Cemetery
Mount Hope Cemetery is located north of Humboldt on Exit Rd. 224 off Hwy.169. On-line grave locator is available on the City of Humboldt website www.humboldtkansas.org

Fri. Opening activity 7 pm at Mount Hope Cemetery: Featured speaker, National Park Service Superintendent Arnold Schofield will present "Kansas 'Confederate' Cherokees!" Program will close with a reenacted Kansas Jayhawk letter written Feb 24, 1862, at Camp Hunter, Humboldt.

June 13
Sat. 10 to 5 at Camp Hunter Park, west end of Pine at 1st Street.  FREE: Reenactments of Raid & Burning of Humboldt 1861. NEW Horseshoes. NEW Children's Games. RETURN of Abraham Lincoln.
